These 12V mini Christmas replacement bulbs for incandescent string lights are made with a pinched base. This unique shape guarantees a secure fit in most every string light (regardless of whether the pinched base is required or not). Value pack includes 20 clear bulbs. 12 volt bulbs are typically used in strands of 10 lights and are common on most treetoppers.

Please be sure to reference the tag near the male plug on your light set to confirm both the voltage and the wattage for your string. Voltage, amperes, and wattage must all match the following bulb specifications: 12 volt, 80 mA, 0.96 watt.

How to determine the voltage required: Reference the tag near the plug on existing light set. If the voltage is not specifically stated for the individual bulbs, then take the total voltage for the light set and divide by the number of lights in one circuit. 12V bulbs are most often used in 10 light sets (one-way)

Determine the correct wattage: Reference the tag near the plug on existing light set. Look for wattage of 0.96 and amperes of 80 mA (or 0.08 A) for the individual light bulbs. If either of these numbers match, then this is should be the correct bulb for your light set.

These 12V replacement bulbs are sold ‘naked’ which means that they do not come with any plastic husk. Please be sure to keep the plastic husk that the old bulbs are removed from so that these will incorporate into your string light. The unique pinched base shape to these bulbs allows them to set fully down inside of most any husk to make meaningful contact with the brass contacts inside.

Perfect replacement for a ten light string. Never knew there were different voltages, assumed a mini Xmas bulb was a mini Xmas bulb, and of course the ones I’ve collected from bad strings of 100 blew out as soon as I plugged the small set in. Thanks to this site and the internet I got the correct set from 612 and the snowmen are lit once again.

    Battery powered Christmas lights are easy to make. In a number of situations, Christmas lights need to be battery powered. Whether you’re placing lanterns where there aren’t outlets or running a cord that’s inconvenient or safe—like on a door wreath—it’s easy to convert your AC-powered Christmas lights to battery power.
    
    The easiest way to turn Christmas lights into a battery
    
    Step 1
    
    Connect the Christmas lights to the AC/DC inverter. This is the easiest way to turn your Christmas lights to battery life. You simply connect the Christmas lights to an inverter powered by a 12V battery. It’s like using an outlet when the outlet is not available. A 12V battery inverter can be bought online for about $20.
    
    Step 2
    
    Making a battery power source for Christmas lights when you can’t plug in the power cord is another reason to convert AC to DC Christmas lights. It’s a little more complicated, but still easy to do. LED Christmas lights can be converted to DC by cutting the cords and connecting them to the battery packs. Cut the garland wire at the fork and strip the plastic off the wire by about one inch.
    
    Step 3
    
    Attach the waterproof battery harness wire to the wires shown in the second step of the Christmas lights by twisting them together. Wrap the wires with black electrical tape after twisting them. A battery harness can be found at any electronics store, such as Radio Shack. You will need to connect 5 AA batteries together to create a 6 volt battery pack for your Christmas lights. Every 5 AA batteries will work for a 100pcs mini Christmas garland.
