Finding where to buy RTX 3080 Ti for well under MSRP is a much easier process than it was compared to last year, now that the RTX 40 series has arrived and Amazon Prime Day is nearly upon us. Costs are dropping thick and fast, with the high-end refresh Ampere GPU continuing to retail cheaper than ever – specifically, thanks to the 16GB RTX 4080 models.
With 2023 now well underway, we’re only expecting these prices to drop further, and naturally, that will happen more as we progress throughout the year. So come the likes of Amazon Prime Day in July and Black Friday in November, there should be amazing low offers. In the meantime, though, RTX 3080 Ti costs are still more appealing than ever – especially if you are looking to get a cheeky deal.
What’s particularly encouraging is how RTX 3080 Ti stock is routinely selling cheaper than its weaker and older RTX 3080 stock. If you’ve been on the fence about which GPU to get your hands on, then you can get the faster and more powerful video card for incredible rates right now.
RTX 3080 Ti price
This high-end GPU had an MSRP of $1,199 and an RRP of £1,049 making it one of the more expensive ways to get into high-end 4K gaming, but the sheer force on display (10,240 CUDA cores and 12GB VRAM) that’s of little surprise that there’s a steep barrier to entry. It launched around 12 months ago but is actually easier to find and buy now, a full year after its initial release period.
As stated above, it’s now entirely possible to find the RTX 3080 Ti at its actual retail price (or well below!) in both the US and UK, so if you can justify the added bump up in price for RTX 3090 quality in-game performance, then we’ve got you covered below with where to buy it.

Massive
copper plate & heatpipes

Today’s review is not late, but delayed! So meet – RTX 4070 Ti. The long-suffering video card, which survived several waves of criticism, first in the guise of a 12 GB RTX 4080 with a heavily trimmed chip against the background of the 16 GB version, and then renamed the 4070 Ti, caused user dissatisfaction already with the price.
Where is it seen that the 70th series cost $900? As a result, the price tag was reduced, though by $100. But “She’s faster than the 3090 Ti!” says Nvidia.

Of course, we will also evaluate the growth over a generation with the help of the RTX 3070 Ti, we have it, like the 3080 Ti, performed by INNO3D X3 OC, and the 4070 ti in the guise of Palit GameRock Classic. Let’s go through the characteristics. Naturally, the first thing that catches your eye is the price. The recommended cost of 4070 Ti is one third higher than its predecessor, and could even be 1.5 times higher, but now this multiplier is applicable to 4080. It is estimated to be 50% more expensive than 4070 Ti, while it has 27% more different cores and blocks, and volumes and memory bit depth is better by a third. In turn, the 4070 Ti, compared to the 3070 Ti, has a 25% advantage in the number of cores, but with a much higher frequency, 12 times the L2 cache and a 1.5-fold superiority in memory, but it did not do without a fly in the ointment – the bus bit rate has become lower, especially against the background of 3080 Ti, where the same amount of memory has a bus twice as wide.
As for the media block, here, like the older models, there are two instead of one encoder, also of a newer generation with support for AV1 encoding.
Testing
Benchmark tests
Let’s move on to the comparison.
In 3DMark Fire Strike Ultra, the new product is faster than the 3080 Ti by 6%, the 4080 is ahead by another 29%, and the generation difference reaches almost 45%, or in reverse calculation, the 3070 Ti is 31% weaker than the 4070 Ti.
In another 3DMark Time Spy Extreme subtest, the situation is almost the same with a slight improvement in the result for the 4070 Ti.
Testing the tracing in Port Royal was the most difficult for the 3070 Ti, the balance between the other video cards remained almost unchanged.
In Adobe Premiere Pro, using Puget Benchmark instead of our project did not help to show the difference between video cards, and there was an order of magnitude less emphasis on the processor.
At the same time, Blender responds well to performance differences, showing a decent gap between any pair of video cards.
Tests in games (RTX OFF)
Let’s move on to games. Cyberpunk, ultra preset, FSR disabled, built-in benchmark.
We start with Quad HD resolution, where even the 3070 Ti renders enough FPS with some headroom for more complex scenes. 3080 Ti gives another 36% more frames, and the new one is 1.5 times faster.
Transition to 4K is the most difficult for 4070 Ti, but the FPS of other video cards dropped by 2 times. It can be noted that the amps have reached their power limit of 290 and 350 watts with the 3070 Ti and 3080 Ti respectively, while the 4070 Ti and 4080 have a small margin to their 285 and 320 watt limits.
Horizon Zero Dawn, highest graphics preset, FoV 70. Even with high-frequency memory in XMP, the performance of the i9-13900K is a bit lacking to fully load the graphics cards, especially the 4080, which reduced its advantage over the 4070 Ti to 15%.
Again, the 4070 Ti suffered the most from the increase in resolution, and this despite the fact that it did not always work at full capacity in Quad HD. Now it is slower than the 3080 Ti, and the 3070 Ti now lags behind it not by 1.5 times, but by 23%.
Doom Eternal, ultra nightmarish preset. The 4070 Ti excels in this game. Not only is it 80% faster than its VRAM-starved predecessor and 19% faster than the 3080 Ti, but the 4080 only renders 15% more FPS.
The transition to 4K is detrimental to the 3070 Ti with its 8 GB. Even the 3080 Ti is almost 2 times faster than the usual 30+ percent.
God of War, ultra preset. The 3080 Ti breathes down the back of the 4070 Ti. If she had a higher power limit, there would be parity. 3070 Ti is 29 behind its successor%, or the 4070 Ti is 40% faster than it, depending on how you feel more comfortable counting. The RTX 4080 renders another 27% more FPS, which fully corresponds to the difference in the number of cores and blocks.
The increase in resolution affected FPS everywhere in the same way, so the performance ratios did not change.
Forza Horizon 5, all settings maxed out. Anti-aliasing MSAA 8x. The 4070 Ti is once again slightly faster than the 3080 Ti, while still having 150W less power consumption. Yes, even the 4080 in this game has lower consumption than the 3070 Ti with a huge difference in FPS.

The Witcher 3, ultra preset, DirectX 12. The balance of power here is already familiar, I wonder what FPS would come out on DirectX 11.
The
Lovelaces sank the most in FPS after the resolution upscaling, leaving the 4070 Ti slightly behind the 3080 Ti. I wonder if it’s the bitness of the memory bus that affects it, or is the large L2 cache not so effective at high resolutions?
Halo Infinite, very high preset, FoV 78. Suddenly, the 3080 Ti is 18% behind the new product, and the generation difference reaches a record 59%, while the 3070 Ti has enough video memory.

At 4K, the 3080 Ti closes the gap a bit, but the 4070 Ti is much better. The video memory of the 3070 Ti is back to back, and it lost the most FPS.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, extreme preset for beauty lovers. Water procedures are the most difficult conditions for graphics cards, in which the 3070 Ti barely keeps above 60 FPS. Owners of 144 or 165 Hz monitors should refrain from high settings in favor of eSports monitors, because even 4080 renders only 124 FPS on average.
In 4K, amps are not at all able to provide a stable 60 FPS. The 4070 Ti, in turn, is noticeably faster, with a 15% difference between them, and the 4080 is another 21% more productive.
On average over 8 games, the 4070 Ti will give the owner 1.5 times more FPS compared to its predecessor, and the 4080 will add another 19%. The 3080 Ti will still be slower than the novelty, but in 4K the difference is insignificant, sometimes even faster.
Tests in games (RTX ON)
Will something change in the trace? Let’s go check.
In cyberpunk, the rays dropped the FPS by more than 2 times on all video cards, and due to the lack of video memory, the 3070 ti sank more than the others. Only on 4080 you can not use DLSS, although in the game itself there are more complex scenes for video cards than in the benchmark.
In 4K, the FPS dropped another 2 times compared to Quad HD. The 3070 Ti is dying from lack of .. everything. Even with a large amount of video memory without DLSS, there is nothing to do here, in fact, like other video cards.
In DOOM Eternal, tracing does not prevent you from combining business with pleasure if you do not have 8 GB of video memory.
Interestingly, a further increase in resolution resulted in the least FPS loss for the 3070 Ti. However, its FPS is low for such a dynamic shooter.
Tracing costs almost nothing in Forza. Even the 3070 Ti, which lacks memory, only lost 9% FPS.
In 4K, the 3080 Ti and 4070 Ti are again parity, as it was without tracing. The FPS of the 3070 Ti has become below a comfortable level, but if you think about it, then you can even more or less play on it in 4K with tracing.
Metro Exodus Extended Edition. Extreme graphics preset, ray tracing: ultra. It’s not clear why, but the 4000 line has far fewer stutters, which was not the case in other games. In terms of performance, there is also a significant gap both between the 70s and in comparison of the 3080 Ti with the 4070 Ti.
At 4K, the 4070 Ti sank a lot, losing to the 3080 Ti, and now the frametime of all video cards is terrible. 4080 does not suffer from this from time to time, so the statistics of rare events are much higher, but it is clear from very rare events that the comfort of the gameplay with it is at a low level.
But where there can be no talk of comfort, it is in the witcher with tracing. For some reason, the 3070 Ti is the only one that doesn’t have barcode-like frametime, but the FPS leaves a lot to be desired. With the rays of all, he sank almost 4 times.
4K fixed the oddly good frametime on the 3070 Ti, and now all graphics cards are unplayable, and the funny thing is, almost everywhere the same FPS. Here they are, modern games created in a hurry and bypassing optimization.
As a result, ray tracing did not affect the overall balance of power. Unless the long-suffering 3070 Ti died wherever possible because of its 8 GB, but this is not due to different generations of RT cores in the 3000 and 4000 series.
Considering the small difference between the 3080 Ti and the new product, it cannot be said that it is faster than the flagship of the previous generation. Not always and not everywhere, what can we say about 80%.
Overclocking and undervolting
It remains to consider undervolting and overclocking, so we will not linger.
The memory overclocking was anti-record, only +900 MHz at the effective frequency, as a result of which, in order to maintain performance, the chip voltage could only be reduced by 100 mV, but even this gave -50 W to consumption in the God of War. The maximum overclocking with increasing voltage, in turn, gave a very modest 4% increase due to an increase in power consumption by almost 30 watts.
In forza, overclocking gave more, as much as 4.5% of additional frames at the price of 45 watts. Approximately the same amount allowed to reduce the undervolt while maintaining performance, and since the cooling system is common, the memory, despite overclocking, also cooled down a bit.
Results
What is the result? If you go to a retail store, it turns out that the 4070 Ti is cheaper than the 3080 Ti.
