Valve caught fire

2 months worked fine. Accidentally walked past a water heater and saw flames bursting out of the vent. The valve is on! The valve must have an internal gas leak. None of the lines I installed were leaking (photo attached).

We used it to replace our Atwood 91043. For this application, the supplied fittings must be used. We used a great white thread sealant Oatey and we’re back in business! This is a much better device than the one we replaced.

Does what he has to do and does it well. Our kettle has never worked so well. I didn’t even realize he wasn’t living up to his potential. Now the three of us can take a shower before the hot water runs out. There used to be only one shower in front of the new control valve. The indicator lamp also lights up when there is wind. Before, it kept falling.

Close but not exact screw replacement for G6A-7

Not really suitable for G6A-7 water heaters. Provided the fitting is 45 degrees out of alignment with the existing water heater gas line connection. Use knee on 90 degrees that screws into the valve and a 90 degree flare designed for 10 gallon water heaters and the faucet will be perfectly aligned. The rest is easy work. Typical fast shipping from Revain Prime. I like it.

Supply heat to heater control valves

Bought for service. There were big problems with flame control, until they finally replaced the air intake with an air intake from an old unit with a little refinement. Disappointing because this device was listed as a replacement for an older model and it didn’t fix the issue so we spent a day testing it and looking for any non-existent issues. I don’t blame the seller for this. The price would have been great if it wasn’t for the problem with the flame sensor.

It’s a little tricky to install, but it’s an important component. Attention: 1 sheet has a large hole at the end, DO NOT USE! This allows a large amount of gas to pass through the pipeline. Our original only had one hole and it was big enough to fit a BB in it. We put a new one on it and the flame flies out from everywhere! I changed it to the original, which had only one hole, and everything worked fine. We nearly set ourselves and our caravan on fire 3 times before realizing that was the problem.

Replaced my Atwood 91601 with 6 gallons.

I bought this to replace my 91601 on my 84 Shasta with a 6 gallon tank for hot water. Installed today, seems to have been successfully replaced. The plumbing wasn’t suitable for replacement but was close enough to work as my propane line sagged a bit as it went. 1) You must use the “Outlet” valve fitting (small hole) from your 91601, it only comes with a new tube for the “Inlet” valve/thermostat. Also, make sure you have white tape for the areas where it is required. Overall, I’d say that although it’s pricey, it’s decent and gets the job done. Also, I used the same thermocouple and pilot pair as my 91601 unit with no issues as my issue was a leaky adjustment knob that caught fire. :-/

. When I turned it back on it seemed to work. A kink is hard to fix or complain about something that isn’t broken at the moment. By getting out, I mean maybe sometime in the night he can get out just in time to take a cold morning shower. Years passed, I was finally lucky, and it didn’t glow on the street, now I’m walking towards the house, but there are still a few days before it.
