If you are craving grilled food but don’t want to or can’t cook outside, smokeless indoor grills are the answer. Whether you live in a city apartment or have an outdoor grill but it’s the height of winter or pouring rain, you can enjoy the delicious taste of grilled meats, fish, and vegetables while never leaving the comfort of your kitchen.

To create a smokeless grilling experience, indoor grills usually employ infrared heat rather than direct, open flames. They run off electricity, so no need to deal with a heavy propane tank, and most fit nicely on your countertop. There are two varieties of indoor grills: open grills and contact grills. The former is a sort of scaled-down version of an outdoor grill with an open grilling surface. You’ll need to flip your food halfway through so that everything cooks evenly. Contact grills have two cooking surfaces—one on top and one on the bottom, like a panini press.

We sent a few of our top choices out for testing in real home kitchens by testers who miss grilling but lack the outdoor space necessary for even the smallest of grills. To test, they cooked up the burger recipe of their choice, in addition to making grilled romaine lettuce. They noted a few determining factors along the way, like how easy or hard it was to set up each grill out of the box and how long it took to get to the optimal temperature; some checked the temperatures with an infrared thermometer for accuracy. Lastly, they noted if their kitchens got smoky and whether cleanup was a breeze or not, including if any greasy mess was left behind on the counter.

From grills that sear to ones that do a lot more than grilling, here are the best smokeless indoor grills.

What We Love: Adjustable temperature dial, open grates to allow grease to drip, easy to clean, extra-large drip tray

What We Don’t Love: Grill is bulky

The Hamilton Beach Searing Grill is a perfect indoor replacement for an outdoor grill. It won’t smoke up your space, there’s no fuel to have to mess around with, and it’s pretty much ready to use right out of the box.

The temperature dial allows you to sear at 450 degrees and then lower the heat to continue cooking your steaks, burgers, and pork chops to the doneness you desire. A green light tells you when the temperature is reached, which took about 3 minutes for our tester. The burgers came off the grill with nice sear marks—though were slightly overcooked, so be sure to check for doneness earlier—and the fact the grease dripped through the open grates made it similar to an outdoor grilling experience. The romaine lettuce test was a bit hard to handle; this grill sat high on the tester’s counter, and when it came time to remove the lettuce, the leverage was off and it slipped out the tongs. During our tests, the lid kept any smoke and heat contained in the grill.

Cleanup afterward was extremely easy, especially since the grease was captured by the pull-out drip tray, which is larger than other indoor grill models. Once cooled, the hood, plate, and drip tray are removable and dishwasher-safe. The grill is a bit bulky, so you will need dedicated storage space.

What We Love: Open top mimics outdoor grill, cool-touch handles, easy to clean

What We Don’t Love: Counter gets greasy because of no lid

Unlike most indoor electric grills, the Zojirushi does not have a lid that cooks food from both sides, so it more closely mimics the outdoor grilling experience. Perfect for grilling fruits and vegetables, the grill lays flat and can reach up to 410 degrees. It has cool-touch handles and a base for safety on the counter and easy maneuvering post-cooking. Its dishwasher-safe drip tray and large ceramic nonstick grilling surface detach from the body for easy cleaning.

We sent this home to a tester who found that it only took a few minutes to set it up after a quick look at the instructions. When it came time to grill, the surface got to full heat within 7 minutes, with the side of the grill closer to the temperature prong heating up slightly faster. That didn’t stop it from cooking up juicy burgers and beautifully charred romaine lettuce without smoking up the tester’s apartment. After testing, the cleanup of the grill itself wasn’t an issue once everything cooled down, but since this doesn’t have a lid, the counter did need a good wipe-down.

“I like the grill! I think it’s a nice substitution for an outdoor grill for those who don’t have outdoor spaces in urban environments. I’ve also grilled peppers and mushrooms so far, but I think it’d do a nice job on delicate seafood like prawns, scallops, and fish.” — Elspeth Velten, General Manager, Simply Recipes

What We Love: Good-size cooking area, dishwasher-safe parts, lid prevents mess

What We Don’t Love: Grill temperature may not be accurate, can be awkward to store

This pan-like indoor grill features an adjustable temperature knob that allows you to customize your cooking, reaching a high searing temperature of 450 degrees to lock in flavor. Your veggies, burgers, and fish will cook perfectly on the 14-inch round grill (there’s even enough space to cook those things altogether).

This grill comes with a large, slightly domed lid to let you cook without splashing grease or oil, and that came in handy during our testing. After a quick set-up, our tester started prepping for a burger dinner. Setting the temperature dial to 400 degrees, it’s questionable if the grill pan got that hot; an infrared thermometer didn’t register the same temperature once the grill’s indicator light went on. As the burgers cooked, some grease sputtering happened, but the lid prevented a mess. The romaine performed less well than an outdoor grill; the leaves wilted and tasted great, but there were no sear marks. This all said, our tester enjoyed cooking on this, especially since the lid stopped a greasy mess and smoke in her kitchen.

The handles and base did stay cool to the touch, so you can safely use this without any burns to you or your countertop. Everything was on the easier side when it came to cleaning as the parts are dishwasher safe, though you might need to give the nonstick pan a little extra wipe-down as the grease tends to cling to it. Also, since the pan is very wide, it may be tricky to store.

What We Love: Versatile, lid opens fully flat, cooks evenly

What We Don’t Love: Large size and accessories make it challenging to store

Featuring interchangeable plates, this versatile and efficient grill from De’Longhi includes embedded heating elements, which prevent hotspots for a more even cooking process. There’s also an integrated drip tray for grease-free grilling.

The grill features separate temperature controls for the lid and base plate so you can customize your cooking, or cook a variety of foods that require different temperatures at once since the grill fully opens up to double your cooking space. Its extras fulfill all kinds of cooking desires—from the dishwasher-safe griddle, waffle, and grill plates to a broiler function that allows the lid to float for gorgeously melted cheese atop your burgers. All these extras and the size of the grill mean you need a decent-sized storage space.

What We Love: Perfect for one person, versatile, inexpensive

What We Don’t Love: No drip tray

If you often cook for one or counter space comes at a premium, Dash’s mini and mighty grill might be your best grilling answer. Make a single serving (think a burger or a veggie burger) in just a few minutes—there’s no space to cook up too much more than that. What it makes up for in lack of size is its versatility: The 350-watt Dash Mini Grill is also perfect for grilling up breakfast sandwiches, paninis, and grilled cheese.

The nonstick surface means the plates are easy to wipe down when you’re done. The biggest downside is that there isn’t anywhere for the oil to drain into, so if you have an oily burger, the cleanup might be a bit of a mess. This affordable, petite indoor grill comes with a 1-year warranty, recipe book, and recipe database.

What We Love: Many functions, adjustable height, easy to store

What We Don’t Love: Buttons to release grill plates can break easily

What’s better than a perfectly grilled, juicy burger? Perhaps a crispy-on-the-outside, melty-on-the-inside panini! The Cuisinart Griddler Five can deliver both of these and various other dishes due to its many capabilities.

Named for its five—yes, five—functions, this sleek machine is a panini press, contact grill, full grill, full griddle, and half grill/half griddle. Flip the grill plates to cook chicken, veggies, and quesadillas, or make a panini—the height adjusts to accommodate various thicknesses of bread. Its LCD screen shows function, temperature, and timer, while the removable and reversible dishwasher-safe nonstick cooking plates mean easy storage. A con mentioned by users is that the buttons you press to pop out the grill plates are made of plastic and can break easily.

What We Love: Multi-functional, large cooking area, built-in temperature probe

What We Don’t Love: Bulky to store

If you plan to keep your indoor grill on the countertop—whether due to lack of storage or frequency of use—this all-in-one indoor grill is worth the precious real estate. The Ninja Foodi Smart XL not only has a generous cooking area for grilling your favorite foods, but it can also air fry, roast, bake, broil, and dehydrate. Perfect for when the cookout is rained out, this indoor grill can fit up to 24 hot dogs or six steaks; and with the temperature-controlled grill grate, cool-air zone, and splatter shield, you don’t have to worry about smoking up the kitchen. Once you’re done grilling, keep the food warm in the oven while you swap to the air fryer insert to cook up some fries.

The Smart Cook system and built-in temperature probe allow for foolproof cooking. Use the front panel to choose among four protein settings and customize them to your desired doneness; you can also check on the food’s progress with the integrated thermometer. The 500-degree Cyclonic Technology means the grilling surface sears the outside of the meat while circulating hot air to cook the inside evenly. Keep in mind that the accessories don’t fit inside the grill for storage, so you will need a large space if putting it all in a cabinet.

You can even choose your level of doneness, for the perfect medium-rare or whatever you choose. It heats up to 525 degrees, roaring hot for an indoor grill. You can even defrost and grill ingredients straight from the freezer with its handy frozen setting.

Final Verdict

The Hamilton Beach Searing Grill will completely satisfy your grilling craving, whatever it is you want to cook up, while still being affordable. Though if you want to replicate your outdoor grill inside, you should pick up the Zojirushi Indoor Electric Grill.

What to Look for in an Indoor Grill

When it comes to the cooking surface, bigger isn’t necessarily better—especially considering you will have to find a spot to store the indoor grill in your kitchen. An 80-square-inch grill is a great fit for a single person or a couple, while a 100-square-inch can easily grill enough food for families of three to five. If you need to feed more people, get ready to grill up a few batches (or move the party outside, as you’re unlikely to find an indoor grill larger than 150 square inches).

Higher wattage means two things: Your food will cook faster, and you will pay more. If speed matters, it’s worth investing in a higher-watt grill. It also helps if you want the option to sear your meat since that can only be achieved at a high temperature.

If your kitchen doesn’t have the best ventilation, a grill with a built-in filter will cut the smoke levels way down (despite the name, even these smokeless grills produce some smoke). Removable grill plates are also a great feature—they make cleaning up many times easier—especially if they’re dishwasher safe. If not, you’ll have to carefully wipe the whole thing down with a damp cloth.

Do you need a grill brush to clean an indoor grill?

Yes, it’s helpful to use a grill brush to clean an indoor grill. “Indoor grills can utilize the same equipment one would typically use for an outdoor grill, such as tongs and a grill brush,” says Chef Tim Hastings. Our testers found that indoor grills with nonstick grates were fairly easy to clean without a brush, though one would help if using the grill often.

Are cooking times different on indoor grills?

No, cooking times should be similar on indoor grills and fairly comparable to outdoor ones. To determine how your indoor grill heats up, cook something familiar like burgers, chicken, or veggie kebabs on it the first few times. Also, if your indoor grill has a lid, the cooking time will be cut in half compared to an outdoor grill since there is no need to flip the food.

Does food grilled on an indoor grill taste like outdoor grilling?

If you are used to eating foods grilled on a charcoal grill, indoor grilled food won’t compare. But an indoor grill can create a similar taste and look to food cooked on an outdoor gas grill.

What to Consider When Buying an Indoor Grill

Buying a great indoor grill isn’t just about the grill’s quality—it’s also about preferences and safety. Indoor grills were made with convenience in mind without worrying about things like grill covers to enjoy the taste of grilled foods. With that being said, the best indoor grill should contain enough surface area for your preferred meats and sides while also being small enough to store away in a cabinet.

Indoor grills are also electric, which means they require the use of a plug. Most indoor grills are made with a lengthy cord so they can sit a good distance away to prevent overheating, so countertop space is another aspect to consider before purchasing an indoor grill.

Types of Indoor Grills

Contact grills: These grills feature a top that closes down on your food. The top of contact grills typically contains grill plates to produce a sear on both sides of your meats, so you don’t have to flip your burgers, steaks or chicken. These tops are also used as a panini press.

Open grills: Open grills mimic outside grills where the bottom surface is the only portion of the grill that contains plates and produces grill marks. In order to ensure even cooking time, food will have to be flipped halfway through.

How We Found the Best Indoor Grills

As shopping experts, our only job is to help you find a winning product. We start with the research and reporting basics—what products are made of, what they look like and how much they cost—to ensure that we’re only recommending the buys that are worth your time and money. Then, we research the features that speak to the product’s quality, taking advice from industry insiders and subject-matter experts on what makes a product a smart value (or worthy of a splurge). Finally, we do the work of combing through user reviews to see how real people interact with the product, and if it stands up to the test.

What can you cook on an indoor grill?

Indoor grills are just like outside charcoal and gas grills: They can be used for a variety of foods. Most people use indoor grills for meats such as burgers, steaks, chicken or kebabs, but they can also be used to grill fish or your favorite sides. The best indoor grills include a top with a grill plate that can double as a panini press to create a toasted sandwich.

What temp should you cook a steak to on an indoor grill?

Cooking steaks on an indoor grill is not cut-and-dry. There are several things to consider, such as the thickness of your steak, how long your indoor grill takes to preheat and cook, and your preferred finish. The recommended temperature by the USDA is 145 degrees for grilled steaks, which will take 8-10 minutes with a one-inch thick steak. If you prefer a more well-done steak, continue grilling until the temperature reaches 160-165 degrees.

What temp should you cook burgers to on an indoor grill?

Cooking burgers on an indoor grill is no different than grilling on an outdoor grill. Electric grilled burgers should be cooked to an internal temperature of at least 160 degrees, which takes about five to six minutes per side.

How to choose a grill for steaks

An experienced chef told Komsomolskaya Pravda Vladimir Yakovlev . He is sure that before you buy a steak grill, you need to find out what you want from it.

For steak, especially beef, heat is key. The grill must be powerful in order to provide maximum feed. A cast-iron grate, which has a high heat dissipation, can provide good heating.

Having a thermometer built into the grill lid is a big plus. This is necessary for accurate temperature control. A handheld thermometer can also be used to check the temperature inside the meat.

The housing must be able to withstand high temperatures and must be made of heat-resistant material. Best of all – metal with ceramics.

For summer cottages, of course, the grill must be mobile. This is especially true for charcoal grills. Well, if the model has wheels for easy movement on the site.

Lid and grate

The grill lid must have a handle with a heat reflector, as this can cause serious injury to the hand. An ash collector that makes life very easy for any summer resident will also be useful, which will ensure cleanliness on the site.

— For me, a grill is such a thing that combines all the tools for cooking in the country — a brazier, a cauldron, an oven, a smokehouse, both cold and hot smoked — notes Vladimir Yakovlev. – But specifically for a steak, only two criteria are needed – this is a grill and a thermometer. The grate should be high enough above the coals, somewhere 15-20 cm.

Back-frying pork steak

Vladimir Yakovlev also shared an interesting recipe for summer cottage steak, which you can cook on a brand new grill:

Ingredients for the steak

  • Pork chop: 1.5 kg;
  • Salt: 1 tsp;
  • Black pepper: 0.5 tsp;
  • Olive or vegetable oil: 1 tbsp;

Sauce ingredients

  • Onion: 1 medium onion;
  • Garlic: 1 clove;
  • Butter: 50 gr;
  • Flour: 1 tbsp. spoon;
  • White wine: 50 ml;
  • Mustard: 1 teaspoon;
  • Cream: 50 ml;
  • Chicken broth (chicken cube can be diluted): 150 ml;
  • Pepper mix: 1.5 tbsp. spoon (we add pepper to taste, this ratio is for a spicier sauce)

  • Cut the pork chop into two finger thick steaks (approx. 2 cm).
  • Brush with oil and season with salt and pepper, leave to marinate for 20-30 minutes.
  • At this time, we light the coals in the starter and make a 50 to 50 configuration (charcoal or briquettes are located on half of the grill).
  • We bring the temperature in the grill to 120-130 degrees (we regulate the temperature with dampers).
  • We clean the grate and put the steaks on it where there are no coals.
  • Cook for 40-60 minutes (if you have a probe, stick it into the meat and bring it to 60 degrees).

When the temperature in the grill reaches 120-130 degrees, you can put the pork on the grill. Photo:

How to make the sauce

  • Finely chop the onion and fry in butter until soft.
  • Cut the garlic and add to the onion.
  • Add white wine and chicken broth, boil for 5-10 minutes.
  • Dissolve the flour in warm water and add the cream, stir and add to the sauce.
  • Reduce the sauce by half (until it thickens).
  • Finally add the pepper mixture and mustard, stir and leave to cool.

Before serving the sauce with steaks, it must be cooled down. Photo:

Final stage and serving

Transfer the steaks to a zone of direct strong heat (260-270 degrees). Cook the steaks for another 8 minutes, turning them every 2 minutes.

Serve them with sauce.

When cooking with indirect heat, add wood chips to the coals. It should be soaked for half an hour before cooking. Chips can be any. Smoked steaks are much tastier, although they are very tasty without it.

The best electric grills in 2023: top 9 models for the home0001

Author’s profile

An electric grill differs from a charcoal grill in compactness, safety and convenience.

You can use it in an apartment without fire, while the meat will turn out no worse than on charcoal. Due to the quick heating and the ability to change the temperature in the process, the electric grill will simplify the preparation of not only meat, but also many other dishes. And all this without adding oil, unlike an ordinary kitchen frying pan.

Before that, I did not have an electric grill, and it always seemed to me that the main thing in these devices is a large number of auto programs for cooking different dishes. It turned out that there are more important details. If your grill has at least 50 auto modes, when cooking some products, they will be useless without the high power of the appliance. And without removable frying panels, cleaning the grill will turn into a real hell.

I talked with experts, figured out the characteristics of electric grills, highlighted the most important ones and selected the best models in different price categories based on them.

Selection criteria

The most common design is contact grills. In such, the heating element is located under the work surface, the food is in contact with it. From the side where the heater is located, heat is supplied to the dish being prepared.

Contact models are divided into single-sided, where the heating element is only on one side of the device, and double-sided, where there are two heaters. One-sided are usually a device without a lid – the products have to be turned over, and the liquid released during the process can splatter everything around. Bilateral models are a more convenient option. They are closed, cooking in them takes place by clamping products between two work surfaces. Also, these surfaces can be decomposed into 180 degrees and each can be used as an independent, but already open.

Both specialists and users, whose reviews I studied on Yandex Market, Ozone and in the DNS online electronics store, note such criteria when choosing double-sided contact electric grills.

Power. The most important characteristic. Usually it is from 1800 to 2500 watts. Good models should be powerful, not economical. The optimal power for a home grill is considered to be from 2000 watts. An electric grill with a lower power will take a long time to warm up and may not cope with thick pieces of meat or fish.

“I forgot about the charcoal grill”: 8 grills for home and garden that won’t let you down

Heating temperature. The ability of the grill to produce the highest possible temperature is just related to power. For most culinary tasks, 230-240 °C will suffice. It is important to consider here that often the actual temperature is lower than indicated in the instructions. If you set the temperature to 240 °C when cooking, in fact this figure can be in the range of 220-225 °C.

Type, material and shape of the operating panel. It is better to choose devices with removable work surfaces. These are easy to clean: you can simply remove the panel from the grill, wipe it or wash it. There will be fewer problems if the panel becomes unusable and replacement is required.

Panel cover available in cast iron, ceramic, stone or metal. Models with a metal non-stick coating are most often found on sale: they are suitable for home cooking, are not as expensive as cast iron, and are stronger than ceramic ones.

The best option is a worktop with a ribbed surface or a removable double-sided with a ribbed and smooth top. It’s not just about the beauty of the stripes that corrugated plates leave on products. Thanks to this shape, fat and juice will drain into the grooves, and not accumulate under the food. For the same purposes, the design of the grills provides for a slope. The optimal angle of inclination is seven degrees. If it is larger, the products will slide off the surface. Due to the tilt, excess liquid flows into a special removable tray, it is installed at the bottom of the grill.

Heating element. To heat the working surface in electric grills, a metal heating element or a lamp with an infrared emitter is used. IR elements are fragile and can be operated less than heating elements.

The heating element can be built into the worktops or housing. It is believed that the former heat up faster and more evenly, but in practice, users do not notice a significant difference. But if the heater located in the panel burns out, you will have to change the entire panel at once. In the second case, only the heating element itself can be replaced. Another disadvantage of panels with a built-in heater is that they cannot be washed in a dishwasher, although some manufacturers claim otherwise.

Personal experience: what household appliances I use and what I spent money on in vain

Body material. The body of the electric grill is usually made of plastic or metal. Plastic ones will cost less, but they also have disadvantages: at high temperatures, this material can emit unpleasant odors and melt. Models in a metal case are more reliable, but also more expensive. In some grillers, manufacturers use both materials at once: for example, the body is made of steel, and the handles are made of plastic.

Control type. The mechanical method is simple and reliable: in such models there are usually only two rotary knobs – to change the heating temperature and to set the timer. But the electronic type of control is more common – with buttons and a touch screen, on which you can set the desired temperature or select a program for cooking a particular dish.

These devices look more modern, but with frequent use, the sensor may fail. In general, when choosing the type of control, everything depends on personal preferences and the level of the owner – if you understand temperature conditions, ordinary “turntables” will suffice.

Number of modes. Here, too, it all depends on your preferences. There can be many automatic programs: for red meat, poultry, fish, burgers, sandwiches, sausages and more. For each dish, the program will automatically determine the desired temperature and cooking time. All you have to do is press a button on the control panel. With the help of these programs, you can defrost and reheat food.

It is important that the device with automatic programs also has a manual temperature control mode: thanks to it, you will be able to control the process yourself.

Warranty. Always look at the warranty. With it, you can make a claim to the seller if the device fails during the warranty period. The seller will either repair or replace the product, and may also return the money. The warranty period is indicated in the warranty card, the document is attached to the equipment.

But we do not distort or embellish the reviews. The choice of specific things does not depend on whether we receive a commission.

Product reviews in Tinkoff Magazine are independent. We make a verdict based on reviews of things and devices that we carefully studied, or how these things performed during editorial tests.

For reviews, we either request goods from the manufacturer for a test, or we buy them ourselves, or we study reviews in other publications and user opinions. Our reviews are subjective, but honest and expert: opinions are written by authors who have more than one review behind them. The editorial team of Tinkoff Magazine double-checks the texts, proofreads them and conducts fact-checking.

All prices are at the time of publication of the material, but we update them periodically to keep the reviews up to date.

Optimal – GFgril GF-165

This grill has a mechanical control type and no automatic programs. But there are many benefits. For a relatively low price, the buyer will receive a compact electric grill with a 29 × 23 cm frying panel, on which four meat steaks can be cooked at once. Due to its small size, the grill is suitable for any kitchen; when folded, it can be stored vertically.

The body is made of steel, while the weight of the device is small – 4.5 kg. Working panels with non-stick coating are removed at the touch of a button. They are easy to clean and can be washed in a dishwasher due to the fact that the heating element is not soldered into them, but into the body.

The grill folds out to 180 degrees so you can cook on two panels at once. The temperature is regulated on each. Both panels are double-sided, there is both a corrugated and a smooth side. You can fry scrambled eggs on a smooth one, some people use it to make pancakes.

The model comes with a temperature probe, a special device that can be used to measure the temperature inside a dish during cooking. The dish itself, such as a steak, will not be damaged. With a temperature probe, you will know for sure that the meat has reached the required degree of roasting. There is also a tray for juice and fat, it is easy to get.

The best multicooker-pressure cookers: with less time to stand at the stove

Customers praise the quality and intuitive operation. Of the minuses – the authors of the reviews write that sometimes the grill comes without a temperature probe, but these are isolated cases.

Appliance power 2000 W, maximum heating temperature 250 °C. The product has a 12 month warranty.

How much it costs:

  • on Yandex Market – from 8742 R;
  • in DNS – $7699

Alternative. The Redmond SteakMaster RGM-M805 grill with electronic control type is distinguished by a large number of auto programs for models in its price segment. In total, it has seven modes, including heating and defrosting. The maximum heating is less than GFgril – 240 °C.

The main disadvantage is that the heating elements are built into the panels. You can only clean them manually – after the dishwasher, the heating elements may be damaged. Of the pluses, buyers note the stylish design and the quality of roasting.

Power – 2100 W, warranty – two years.

How much:

  • in DNS – 11 499 R.

Budget – Pioneer GR1010E

Simple electric grill on the “mechanics”. It can work in two positions – closed and open. The maximum power is 2100 W, the heating temperature is 230 ° C, which is not bad for such a price. The body of the grill is made of steel, so there should be no problems with odors. In the lower part there is a removable tray for excess liquid.

You can cook on two non-stick surfaces. There are two regulators on the control panel – for temperature and time. There is an automatic shutdown function in case you forget to do it yourself.

The manufacturer claims that the removable design of the panels makes them easy to clean from dirt, they are easy to wipe with a tissue or rinse under running water. But it is better not to put panels in the dishwasher, since the heating elements are built right into them. The heating function in this grill is performed by a lamp with an IR emitter.

The best multicooker for every day

The product has a 12-month warranty. The owners note that this model does an excellent job with its tasks for a much longer time. But they also point to the minuses: some had problems with fastening the top of the device.

How much:

  • on Yandex Market – from 6390 R.

Alternative. BBK BEG2001 differs from the previous model in the location of the heating element. It is located in the case, and removable panels can be sent to the dishwasher without any problems. The electric grill weighs less than 4 kg and does not take up much space in the kitchen. Worktop size 29× 23 cm allows you to cook several servings of your favorite dishes at the same time. But its heating temperature is lower – 210 °C. There is a two year warranty.

How much:

  • on Yandex Market — 4390 R.

Best — Tefal Optigrill+ XL GC724D12

a large family or companies with nine programs for different dishes. Six of them are automatic. It is equipped with the function of auto-detection of the degree of roasting: the grill itself will set the required time, based on the weight and thickness of the steak. You can follow all stages of cooking with the help of color indicators on the panel and a sound signal.

The grill comes with a baking attachment that can be placed inside and cooked like an oven. All panels, together with the fat tray, can be removed and washed in any convenient way. The power of the device is 2000 W, the temperature maximum is 285 °C. The warranty period is two years.

Customers like fast heating of the panels, ease of use, ease of maintenance and good design.

Fried smelt recipe

This model is presented in a steel case, has a rather large size and weighs 7 kg. For those who are looking for a more compact device, the manufacturer offers smaller analogues of the same power and similar functionality.

How much it costs:

  • at Ozone — 25 499 R;
  • on Yandex Market – from 20 902 R.

Alternative. Steel electric grill WMF Profi Plus Perfection 0415560711 from a German manufacturer that has been producing kitchen appliances since the middle of the last century. The model has six auto modes, slightly more power – 2180 W, maximum heating temperature – 270 ° C. There is a temperature sensor and automatic detection of product thickness, auto-off and shutdown in case of overheating are also provided. Removable panels and liquid tray are dishwasher safe. Recipe book included.

The owners note the quality and reliability of the model with constant use. Of the minuses – the high price. Repair or replacement of goods within two years is provided.

How much does it cost:

  • on Yandex Market – from 37,480 R.

How to choose an electric grill

  1. Always look at the power. In devices with low power, food will cook longer, and meat may not be fried at all. The optimal power is considered to be from 2000 watts.
  2. Pay attention to the materials used in the manufacture of the device. A grill only made of plastic will smell, and some elements may melt under the influence of high temperatures. It is best to take products made of metal or combined – with a metal case and a plastic handle.
  3. The maximum heating temperature may actually be lower than stated. Suitable for household electric grills – from 230 °C.
  4. Do not take a grill where the working panels cannot be removed from the body. They will be difficult to clean and impossible to wash. It would be better if the heating element is not attached to the panel: this can also be washed in the dishwasher.
  5. The grill must have an excess liquid drip tray. It will flow there due to the slope, which is provided in most models.
