Presets need tweaking
After years of rubbishing OLED, here’s Samsung with an OLED TV. But it’s no ordinary OLED. It’s a quantum dot OLED with an incredible specification. As we said in our review, “we’re looking a TV that has had the kitchen sink thrown at it, with Samsung’s latest AI-inspired picture processor, a massively comprehensive and re-designed Tizen-based smart system, the latest gaming features, and even, despite the ultra-slim design, a clever object tracking sound audio system”.
The QD-OLED panel delivers exceptionally bright and colorful images and comes with Samsung’s Neural Quantum Processor, which draws on multiple neural networks to constantly optimise what you see on screen. It’s great for upscaling HD content to 4K, and it means class-leading HDR performance too.
Samsung released its first OLED TV at a price that undercut Sony’s version which uses the same QD-OLED panel, and its cost has since dropped at times by over $1,000 from list. We wouldn’t expect to see much deeper discounts than what’s already been made available, but that prospect is certainly worth tracking during Black Friday.

+
WebOS is fantastic
Reasons to avoid

Lack of cable management
–
No HDR10+ support
The LG C2 OLED holds the top spot on our list of the best TVs in 2022. That’s due to a number of improvements LG has made to this year’s model compared to the LG C1 OLED.
Improvements for 2022 include the new Alpha a9 Gen 5 processor, which is designed to offer better object enhancement and dynamic tone mapping than its predecessor. In addition to those improvements, the C2 OLED carries forward the four separate HDMI 2.1 ports that it inherited from the C1 OLED, meaning it’s the perfect companion for the PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
The C2 has already seen some steep discounts from its initial list price at all screen sizes over the course of 2022. We expect to witness the best deals yet happen during Black Friday, so this TV should be at the top of your watch list.

TCL 6-Series QLED with MiniLED (R635)
The best budget 4K TV: high quality for less
Specifications
Screen size: 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, 85-inch
Resolution: 4K
Panel type: QLED (LCD)
Smart TV: Roku
HDR: HDR, HLG, Dolby Vision
Reasons to buy
+
Uses MiniLED backlighting
+
Quantum dot color
Reasons to avoid
–
Middling peak brightness
–
Poor motion handling
When we discovered that the new TCL 6-Series 2020 QLED (R635) would use MiniLED back at CES, we were shocked. That’s because, just last year, that same technology came to the high-end 8-Series and cost hundreds of dollars more than the ultra-affordable 6-Series.
The 6-Series is brighter than before, more colorful, and doesn’t have a single hint of haloing or light bleed. It’s designed in a new way to hide your cables, and it’s the first TV to come with THX Certified Game Mode for 1440p/120Hz gaming.
TCL 6-Series models in various screen sizes are already a great deal, and retailers typically make their prices even more attractive during holiday sales events like Black Friday. Last year, a 65-inch 6-Series model dipped down to $800 on Cyber Monday, so we expect to see even lower prices this year as TCL gives the line a refresh and stores push out older inventory.

3 pro tips for buying a TV on Black Friday
1. Last year’s TVs are likely to see big discounts in 2022
While it’s possible to get a great deal on new TV during Black Friday proper, the displays that will see the deepest discounts are models that are left over from last year. Many of these sets have features equivalent to 2022 models and, in some cases, similar performance, so we wouldn’t hesitate to scoop up such deals.
The main issue with buying an older model TV on Black Friday is that the inventory will be much more limited, so you may want to consider making a purchase in advance of that week in order to nab the specific set you want.
2. Look at sites other than Amazon
Amazon has managed to make itself the main portal for Black Friday TV deals, but the truth is that Walmart, Best Buy, and other sites can offer equivalent or even better bargains. You may want to start your search on Amazon to get the lay of the land deal-wise, and then pop over to the other sites listed above in our Today’s best TV sales section to see if they beat it.
Black Friday deal-making is a dynamic process that unfolds over a number of days, so it will pay to track several sites during the course of the week leading up to Cyber Monday.
3. Check to see if the TV is refurbished
If you spot a Black Friday TV deal that looks too good to be true, chances are it’s a refurbished or open-box unit. While it’s entirely possible to get a perfectly good, fully functional open-box TV, there’s also a higher chance there will be a problem than with a direct-from-the-factory unit. Returning TVs, especially at a bigger screen size, like 65 inches and up, is a major hassle, so you’ll want to consider if that great deal is worth the risk.
Black Friday TV deals 2022: our predictions

When will the best Black Friday TV deals start in 2022?
Black Friday is over for another year, but there are still lots of deals available – we’re rounding them up in our best Black Friday deals page.
What can we learn from last year?
Last year TV prices fall gradually in October and November, with the biggest discounts arriving in the days before Black Friday. That’s a pattern data analyst Adobe recorded in its Holiday Shopping Report, too, and broadly speaking we expect to see a similar trend happening again in 2022, with more TVs at lower prices at the end of November than at the start. As the graph shows, TV prices actually dropped a little further again once the Cyber Monday TV deals started, and it’s possible this may happen again.
Sales chart from Adobe’s holiday shopping report. (Image credit: Adobe)
But this year has already been a good one for TV deals. Discounts started earlier than usual in 2022, thanks to LG getting new OLED TV competition from Samsung, plus an oversupply of LCD panels as TV makers pulled back on production following market forecasts. Plus, retailers are likely to need to work even harder this year to encourage people to spend while inflation is high, which may mean even better deals are on the way.
So what’s the verdict? If you plan on buying on price alone – as opposed to seeking out a specific brand or model – then there’s good reason to wait for the Black Friday TV sales to start. That’s when you’ll see the best deals of the year starting on more mainstream, lower-priced sets. If you have a specific set in mind, though, we’d highly recommend grabbing it when you see a price you’re happy with – because that price might not return.
Where will the best TV Black Friday deals be?
We’re tracking all the best Black Friday TV deals here, so bookmark this page and keep checking back. However, if you’d rather search the sales yourself, there are some retailers we recommend over others.
Amazon is a great source for TVs on Black Friday, consistently holding a wide range of stock covering everything from cheap 4K TVs to stunning 75-inch OLED sets, and if you have Amazon Prime you can often get next-day delivery. Best Buy is also one of our top go-to destinations for the lowest TV prices. Here are our top recommendations:
Amazon: smart TVs from $89
Best Buy: huge deals on OLED and QLED
Walmart: big discounts on game-ready TVs
Samsung: up to $1,500 off Neo QLED TVs
B&H: Samsung 4K TVs from $300
Newegg: 8K TVs for under $2,000
What Black Friday TV deals will there be in 2022?
We tracked Back Friday TV discounts of up to $1,000 off higher-end sets from brands like Samsung and Sony last year. There’s no reason why this year should be any different, and we expect to see new low prices for top OLED models from LG and Samsung, with smart TVs starting from $89 at the budget end.
There shoud be plenty of opportunities to save a few hundred dollars or so on more premium and bigger-screen models. Higher-end OLED TVs from brands like LG, Sony, and Samsung have all seen significant price drops over the past few months – Samsung’s 65-inch S95B QD-OLED model, for instance, has been reduced in price by over $1,000. In some cases, those prices bounced back up, but many have dropped again and we expect to see them at least match record lows for Black Friday.
In mid-September, Samsung ran a “Discover Samsung” promotion, offering discounts of up to $1,700 off its 2022 Neo QLED models. This presumably was an effort to steal some Black Friday thunder preemptively, but it also signals that Samsung’s flagship mini-LED TVs will be heavily discounted over Black Friday and the general holiday season.
Mainstream QLED and regular LCD TVs from makers like TCL, Vizio, and Hisense, all traditionally see strong discounts on Black Friday, and we expect that trend to continue in 2022. And many of the best Black Friday TV deals will be for mainstream sets made by budget brands – such as Best Buy house brand Insignia and Amazon’s own Fire TVs, which lack some of the features found in higher-performance sets but offer great value for money.
You can find more bargains on bigger sets in our Black Friday 70-inch TV deals and Black Friday 85-inch TV deals guide. You can also find more premium displays with our Black Friday OLED TV deals roundup.

In addition to those improvements, the C2 OLED carries forward the four separate HDMI 2. 1 ports that it inherited from the C1 OLED, meaning it’s the perfect companion for the PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
The C2 has already seen some steep discounts from its initial list price at all screen sizes over the course of 2022. We expect to witness the best deals yet happen during Black Friday, so this TV should be at the top of your watch list.

What equipment can be saved on Black Friday
Tuesday, 9 November 2021, 11:21company news
Do you know what equipment is bought most often on Black Friday? No, not laptops and smartphones, although the share of these devices is also large. In the first place in terms of the number of units sold – TVs of any brand and diagonal, budget and those that cost fabulous money.
All TVs from year to year suffer the same fate – a total price reduction to minus 50% and buyers are looking forward to the sale in order to watch the “New Year’s light” on the new “blue screen”.
However, televisions are not the only group of goods for which demand is high. Household appliances and small kitchen appliances are also sold and bought well on this day.
What is the peculiarity of the sale of these groups of goods? The consultants of the popular online store told us about this So, what will please Black Friday at Auchan on November 26, 2021?
TVs
TVs on this day will fall in price more than other equipment for various reasons. For sellers, this is an opportunity to free up shelves for new models that will appear closer to spring. And for the buyer – the excitement and profitable purchase of an expensive device is much cheaper than the original price.
Given the considerable price of plasma, the percentage discount on any model is significant – you can easily save several thousand hryvnias.
“It happens that the price tag literally “melts” before our eyes, when the cost of the device drops several times a day,” say experienced shoppers who subscribed to e-shops mailing lists on the eve of Black Friday.
Large home appliances
If you need to update something from household appliances, they plan to purchase it. You can slowly choose a model, compare options, see devices live in offline stores. And, of course, wait for favorable prices.
Like other product groups, home appliances are getting cheaper at World Shopping Week, and here it is – the stellar time to buy. Most buyers already know which model they want, all that remains is to click the “Buy” button in the online store.
Typically, discounts on household appliances reach 50%, but it all depends on the category of goods. Favorable prices are set for refrigerators, washing machines and dishwashers, gas stoves, freezers and other appliances that are bought for years.
Kitchen appliances
Experienced shoppers declare the benefits of acquiring various “small things” for the kitchen. So, in Black Friday prices for blenders, mixers, coffee machines, toasters, double boilers, deep fryers, juicers are guaranteed to be reduced.
As usual, such purchases are “not on fire”, because the housewives are not averse to waiting for the last Friday of autumn. Also, small household appliances with huge discounts are often bought as a gift for the New Year, the holiday is approaching.
And one more thing: on the day of sales, luck is on the side of people who make instant decisions, because in online stores goods run out pretty quickly. Keep that in mind and good luck with your shopping!

Should I buy a new TV right now or wait?
Screaming from all screens of the country, announcements of price cuts on Black Friday and Cyber Monday assure that buying a new TV right now is a great choice, but will prices be even lower in the near future? What about new technologies in next year’s models? Are you really sure that right now is the best time to buy a TV? Let’s figure it out.
Really, should you take advantage of today’s discounts, wait for a better price tomorrow, or see what new models and new technologies will be announced at CES in January? (And yes, CES 2021 will definitely take place, albeit virtually). Believe it or not, there are fairly simple answers to all of these questions. And if you finally decide that yes, you are ready to buy a new TV right now, then pay attention to Led Sony KD55XH9096BR black or similar 2020 models in quality.
Are you satisfied with what you have now?
Forget new technology, if your TV works and you’re happy with it, leave it. Do not rush to change it to something new.
Modern models tend to have a brighter picture and better picture quality than TVs from a few years ago. However, if you’re not the kind of videophile who fine-tunes every setting down to the micron and is constantly obsessed with brightness and color accuracy, then you probably don’t need a new TV.
Purchasing every new item is more about smartwatches and smartphones, but TVs tend to last longer than most electronic devices. For example, they don’t have batteries that lose capacity like laptops and mobile phones, they don’t have wires that wear out like headphones. A TV that was released 5 or even 10 years ago probably works quite well, although the image they play back may not look as cool as the latest 4K HDR. But again, if that doesn’t matter to you, you can probably wait a few more years to buy.
If your TV has some problems or you just want something more, that’s a different story. The new TVs are much cheaper (per inch) than previous models. You can replace your current TV with a new one of the same size that looks better and costs less than your old TV. Or you can pay the same amount that you once paid for your old TV and get something a class higher.
A few words about sales
The biggest TV sales days of the year are, of course, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. At this time, many electronics stores offer incredibly cheap 4K TVs. Are you ready to go shopping? Stop for a quarter of an hour and read the article to the end!
First, if you pay attention to which TVs are the most discounted, you will see that these are either models of no-name brands, or already inexpensive models of well-known manufacturers. They are fine if you just want a cheap TV, but the picture quality on their screens will be significantly worse than a slightly more expensive model. And although there are probably better quality TVs on the trading floor, big discounts on them are less common.
Secondly, massive discounts on TV sets are a rarity in general. It may seem counterintuitive, but stores rarely charge big markups on TVs. So, unless the store is in a hurry to get rid of old stock, you should not expect a huge drop in the price of a good TV set even during super sales.
In general, I recommend being very careful if you suddenly see too attractive discounts on TVs. In any case, there is often a very specific reason for extreme “50% off” and above that you may not like.
Third, most large manufacturing companies do not allow stores to offer their own prices for their products. This pricing policy is called UPP (Unilateral Pricing Policy) and means that the company’s TV will cost the same in any store from the American Amazon to the provincial Russian MVideo.
So, you understand, there is no point in worrying about whether there will be a sale in a particular store. In most cases, or all stores drop prices for a particular model, because it is not included in the list of promotions and sales anywhere.
What about new TV technologies?
If we are talking about technology, there will always be something new in the near future. If this bothers you, then just know that even if something new hits the market next year, it will be very expensive.
For example, MicroLED technology looks very promising, but so far the cost is such that you can buy one or two Porsches for the price of one MicroLED TV. It will be years before this innovation becomes mainstream technology.
On the other hand, many Mini-LED models are already quite affordable. This technology promises image quality close to OLED, but at a fraction of the cost. It is likely that in the future we will see more brands selling Mini-LED screens, but if you really want to, you can buy new items now.
In fact, older TVs over 10 years old can have problems connecting to modern streaming and disk sources, and there is no working workaround for this problem. If your TV won’t play the newer players like Roku or Blu-ray, then you’ll have to buy yourself a new model if you want to use them.
So is it worth buying a new TV?
Buy a new TV now if:
- Your TV is having problems or is too old to connect to streaming services like Netflix.
- You are ready to buy at prices. Suggested stores.
- You want something more than what you have now.
Do not take the TV now if:
- Your current TV is working properly.
- You have a lot of more necessary things, and there is no money for them. And a new TV.
If the picture on your TV screen does not suit you, but you still don’t have free money for a new one, consider improving the picture a little by changing some settings.
