Frequently Asked Questions

What is a hot and cold water dispenser?

A hot and cold water dispenser is a machine that dispenses safe, filtered water on demand — typically in offices and workplaces. It provides both hot and cold water for your employees instantly, catering to the needs of a busy workplace. Depending on the machine you choose, your employees can have instant access to a range of water options, minimizing the time wasted waiting for a kettle to boil.

How does a hot and cold water dispenser work?

Quench hot and cold water dispensers draw water from a building’s existing water line. The water passes through several stages of filtration where contaminants, harmful levels of bacteria, taste, and odors are removed, leaving freshly filtered, great-tasting water. The water is then separated into 2 different reservoirs that are equipped with either a heating or cooling element. When users push a button or activate a touchless pedal, they release either an instant hot or cold stream of water, depending on their preference.

Are hot and cold water dispensers safe?

Quench hot and cold water dispensers are completely safe so long as they are correctly serviced and maintained. And, with help from our qualified Quench-badged technicians, your organization can rest assured that your machine will be in working order year-round. With our UVC technology and antimicrobial surface protection in place, your employees can enjoy added safety and reduced germs around the water reservoir and filter housing.

Are hot and cold water dispensers worth it?

If you’re in pursuit of advanced filtration and hygienic hydration at work, then Quench’s hot and cold water dispensers are definitely worth it. Switching from a bottled water jug to a bottleless water cooler can save a significant amount on water costs, and at Quench, we offer a variety of water types to suit all requirements. We also offer several different models to suit the needs of all businesses, whether you have a small office or a large factory with 200+ employees.

How long do hot and cold water dispensers last?

Quench’s hot and cold water dispensers can continue to provide great-tasting water to your employees for many years with the right care and maintenance. We provide our customers with a once-a-year servicing and deep cleaning of their machines to ensure their water dispensers are working to the best of their ability throughout the year.

Can a hot and cold water dispenser work without electricity?

Quench’s hot and cold water coolers require a connection to a power supply to provide filtered water on demand. We advise that units are continually connected to a power supply to ensure the water is chilled correctly. Our skilled and experienced technicians can help find the perfect location for your water dispenser.

Where can I rent hot and cold water dispensers?

Water Dispenser – Features to look for

1) Size – These appliances are available in various shapes and sizes, depending on available floor space at your kitchen, go for the right model.

2) Child Safety lock – If you have kids at house, then you should only buy a dispenser model, which comes with child safety latch for hot water faucet. This is important to prevent the kids at home from using the unit’s faucet on their own without adult supervision.

3) Power Consumption – Before buying a home water cooler you must enquire about its electricity consumption. The unit must have switches to turn off hot and cold water supply when not in need. These days many dispensers are coming with power saver mode, which when turned on, reduces power consumption of the unit.

4) Capacity – As per your family’s water consumption, you should only choose from those water units, which can accommodate 2,3 or 5-gallon water bottles.

5) Stainless Steel Tank – The stainless steel reservoirs help in maintaining the purity and taste of water (also eliminates the bad plastic taste). Before purchase, you must enquire if your chosen home water cooler model comes with Stainless Steel Tank or not.

6) Drip Tray – The drip tray should be efficient enough to prevent any water spillage on the floor. It should be easy to clean. The drip tray should be placed far enough from the faucets (or spigot) to allow you to fill large glasses, tumblers or bottles from the dispensers.

7) Prong – When lifting and flipping heavy water bottles, there are always chances of some spillage. Some premium variants come equipped with a prong (inside the funnel) to help you load heavy bottles in to the unit without spilling water on the floor.

How water dispenser works – Knowledge

Warm Water Dispenser

When using the warm water dispenser, press the heat switch and the power supply will energize the “keep warm” indicator to indicate on. At the same time, the power supply is divided into two ways: one way is the heating circuit, so that the electric heating tube is supplied with power to heat; another way provides voltage for the GG “heating the GG”; indicator light for heating instructions. When the water in the heating tank reaches the set temperature, the thermostat contact opens, cutting off power to the heating and heating indicator circuit, the “heating” indicator turns off, and the electric heating tube stops heating.

When the water temperature drops to the set temperature, the thermostat contacts are connected to the power circuit and the electric heating tube is heated again so that the water temperature is constantly maintained at 85-95 ° C.

There are double protection components in the warm water dispenser circuit. When the water dispenser overheats or a short circuit occurs, the overheating fuse will automatically melt, or the manual reset thermostat will automatically cut off the power to the heating circuit, which plays a protective role. The overheating fuse is a disposable thermal protection element and cannot be reset. After troubleshooting, replace a new overheat fuse according to the original model and specifications, and then manually reset the thermostat reset button, the contact can be closed and it can work again.

Hot and cold water dispenser

When the semiconductor direct cooling hot and cold water dispenser is used, the direct cooling hot and cold water dispenser supplies water at room temperature from the water tank, and the water enters in two ways: one enters the container for cold water and after cooling, cold water is drained; the other enters the hot water tank and heats up. Hot water comes out of it.

After pressing the cooling switch, the AC voltage is stepped down by the power transformer, the rectifier diode is used for full-wave rectification and capacitor filtering, and the DC voltage is output for cooling by semiconductor cooling components and fan exhaust. At the same time, the cooling indicator lights up. Since the direct cooling hot and cold water dispenser is not equipped with automatic temperature control, the cooling indicator is always on after it is turned on.

Press the heating switch, the heating indicator will light up, the heating tube will heat up, and the water in the heating tank will heat up. When the water temperature rises to the set temperature, the thermostat contacts open, the heating power is automatically turned off, the heating indicator light goes out, and the electric heating tube stops heating. When the water temperature drops to the desired temperature, the thermostat contact is closed, the heating power is automatically turned on, the heating indicator light is on, and the electric heating tube is heated. Then repeat the above process to keep the water temperature constant between 85-95°C.

Compressed cooling water dispenser

When the cooling switch of the cooling water compression dispenser is pressed, the green cooling light is on, the compressor starts to work, and the refrigerant vapor that has absorbed heat and evaporated in the evaporator is sucked back in and then compressed to a high temperature and gas under high pressure, and is sent for condensation. The condenser removes heat to the outside air and condenses into a high pressure liquid, and then flows to the evaporator through capillary throttling and pressure reduction, absorbing the heat of the cold bubble to reduce the temperature of the water, and then sucked by the compressor. The purpose of this cycle is cooling. When the water temperature drops to the set temperature over time, the cooling thermostat contacts open, the green cooling indicator goes out, the compressor stops and switches to heat preservation mode. After the power is turned off, the water temperature gradually rises. When it reaches the set temperature, the contact action of the refrigeration thermostat is closed, the green indicator light is on when the power is turned on, and the compressor is running. Thus, the water temperature is regulated within 4-12 ° C.

Press the heating switch, the heating circuit turns on, the red heating indicator lights up, and the electric heating tube heats up. When the temperature is set by us, the thermostat will automatically return to its original position and the power will be turned off. The red heating indicator will turn off and it will enter the keep warm mode. After the power is turned off, the water temperature will gradually decrease. When it drops to the set temperature, the thermostat contact closes, the power turns on, the red heating indicator lights up, and the electric heating tube heats up again. Thus, the water temperature is regulated within 85-95 °C.

The temperature fuse and manual reset thermostat in this type of drinking fountain are safety devices that automatically fuse or cut the circuit when overheated or overloaded, acting as a protection.
