What’s the difference between 67 and 67XL ink?

HP 67 and HP 67XL are technically the same when it comes to appearance, size, and printer compatibility. The main difference between the two is the amount of ink inside the cartridge. The standard yield HP 67 ink cartridge contains 2ml for black and tri-color, while the high yield HP 67XL ink cartridge contains 4ml for black and 5ml for tri-color. With this being said, HP 67XL ink cartridges can print more pages compared to the standard ones. Standard yield HP 67 ink can print up to 120 pages for black and up to 100 pages for the tri-color, high yield HP 67XL ink, on the other hand, can print up to 240 pages for black and up to 200 pages for the tri-color.

How long do HP 67 cartridges last?

How to deal with the error “Printer ink pad is nearing end of life (expired)” on Epson

“Printer ink pad is nearing the end of its life” or “The printer’s ink pad has expired” are common error messages for Epson consumer printers that occur after a certain amount of ink has been used up during printing, which does not necessarily correspond to one hundred percent fullness of the “diaper” (as the absorbent pad is usually called).

IMPORTANT! Since the printer management program recommends contacting the service department when an error occurs, this is worth doing if you do not want to lose the warranty on the device. You perform any independent manipulations at your own peril and risk!

Why error occurs

The printer pad is a small internal container that waste ink gets into, for example, when printing borderless or cleaning nozzles. The printer cannot determine the actual physical fullness of the “diaper” with ink, therefore it focuses on a digital counter: after working out a certain volume, the lining is considered full and printing stops until the problem is fixed in the SC.

Epson proceeds from the fact that the printer user will not risk ink spills and clog the processing container “to the brim”, wait until it runs out. It also does NOT imply that the “diaper” can be removed and cleaned on its own, or an ink removal system can be adapted to it.

We get rid of the error programmatically

If you are sure that the “diaper” is not full and you just need to bypass the print block, use the PrintHelp program.

Download the program from the official website (search in a search engine) and install it on your computer.
Select your printer from the left menu.
In the “Management” tab, use the option “Burning counters – Reset running”.

Resetting the “pampers” counter in the PrintHelp program for L100

For many popular models, you can reset the counter for free, and for some you will have to buy a reset code from the developers. For very old inkjet printers, you can find additional free software.

Do-it-yourself diaper cleaning

Software reset of the “diaper” counter will not clear it of ink. It is also worth considering that in Epson household devices the absorbent lining is built in (in expensive equipment it is removable). To remove it and clean it, you have to disassemble the printer. Such manipulations are recommended to be trusted by specialists.
