What’s most important about audio tech? Only how close it brings you to your music.

As a composer and audio producer, I’ve always been most concerned about sound quality. I know firsthand what instruments sound like. So I listen for how true the fidelity is when I’m researching and writing about wireless speakers and wireless multi-room audio systems.

My passion — and training — is in classical music, but I enjoy many other genres, too (ask me about Northern Soul sometime). I’ve hosted classical programs on WTJU since 1984, and regularly contribute reviews to their website. I also produce the WTJU Composer Cameo podcast, and, in my spare time, help run the #ClassicsaDay Twitter feed.

Why selecting your headphones is important

SpeakerCompare tailors your listening experience to the exact headphones you have, so that what you hear is comparable to auditioning speakers side-by-side in person. Knowing which model headphones you’re using lets us remove any sonic coloring from your experience.

    Two different listening modes

In an actual listening room, you’d find that some speakers play louder than others when fed the same amount of power. In equal power mode, you’ll hear these differences in loudness as they naturally occur between speakers.

In equal volume mode, we’ve made the loudness of each speaker about the same. This gives you a more direct comparison of subtle voicing differences between speakers.

Nothing beats listening to speakers in your space

SpeakerCompare gives you a sense of the sonic differences. But performance in the real world is affected by the acoustics of your car or home, your choice of amplification, and your source material. We still believe that the gold standard for auditioning speakers is hearing them in your own environment — that’s why we offer a 60-day money-back guarantee.

To help you choose the right speakers, we recommend using Crutchfield’s SpeakerCompare Listening Kit. It includes a pair of studio-quality headphones, and a guide to getting the most out of your session, and a few other necessary items. We’ve carefully chosen the components of this kit to ensure a crystal-clear listening experience. It’s available for a nominal rental fee, and includes a $25 Crutchfield merchandise credit.

How to connect a microphone to a JBL speaker and is it possible to connect them

How to connect a microphone to a JBL speaker? Most portable devices do not have this option. But in some models, you can try to connect using a Bluetooth connection or via a USB or AUX input via a wired connection. Alternative options cannot be ruled out – using an embedded device or using a “transit” through a PC / laptop or smartphone. Below we will consider what are the features of each of the options, and what difficulties users most often face.

Is it possible to connect a microphone to a speaker

There are many questions on the Internet whether it is possible to connect a microphone to a JBL speaker. There may be several reasons for such a desire:

    1. Installing a karaoke program on a TV and using a portable device as a loudspeaker.
    2. The use of a device to amplify the sound of musical instruments or voices.
    3. Holding events when there is no full-fledged equipment and you want to get by with the existing equipment.

We note right away that in most cases, the connection of a microphone to a JBL speaker is not provided due to the lack of the necessary connector or the possibility of connecting via Bluetooth. But in some cases, you can try to pair the two devices and pair the Mic with a portable audio device.

    How to connect

When considering how to connect a microphone to JBL, there are three main methods:

    • Via Bluetooth. To implement such a pairing, it is necessary that both devices support Bluetooth and have the appropriate model. In this case, you can find the microphone through the speaker and connect it. To connect, you need to activate both devices, turn on Bluetooth and wait for pairing. Alternatively, you can try the JBL Portable app, available on Google Play and the Apple Store. Such software is designed to pair different speakers with each other, but you can also try Mic.
    • Via USB. If you have not figured out how to connect a wireless microphone to your JBL speaker, try connecting the devices with a wire. To implement the method, insert the wire from one side into the Mic, and from the other into a portable sound source. It is optimal if recognition occurs automatically.
    • Via AUX. If you have a 3.5mm jack, try connecting a microphone to your JBL through this jack.

    Alternatives

As noted, the options discussed above will most likely not work. But you can use alternative ways:

    1. Use the built-in microphone. Some JBL speakers have a built-in Mic, so you don’t need to connect anything. Simply use the built-in device to stream audio, such as singing karaoke or doing other tasks.
    2. Use a PC, laptop or smartphone as an intermediate device. Alternatively, you can first connect the JBL speaker to a computer, laptop or phone using Bluetooth or by wire (AUX, USB), and only then connect a microphone to the source device. This scheme is more complicated, but it will work in most cases. In the case of a smartphone, you can use the Wo Mic program.

    Anyone will fit

We note right away that not every device is suitable for connecting to a JBL speaker. It must have a Bluetooth module (for wireless connection) or USB / AUX connectors for wired connection. You also need to take into account the manufacturer’s statements from the standpoint of the possibility of such pairing. The same applies to the ZBL model.

Now you know how to connect a microphone to a JBL speaker and what you need to do it. In the comments, tell us if the above instruction was useful to you, and what other methods you can use to solve such a difficult task.

    JBL PartyBox 100 + Microphone AKG P3 S – PartyBox Speaker

Description of JBL PartyBox 100 Speaker + Microphone AKG P3 S

This party kit consists of JBL PartyBox 100 portable speaker and AKG P3 S vocal microphone

The JBL PartyBox 100 is one of the most compact wireless speakers in our party range. The speaker is equipped with two 5.25-inch mid/bass drivers and a pair of 2.25-inch tweeters. The total power of the built-in amplification system reaches 160 W, which is quite enough for a small party. All drivers are protected by a metal grill, while the mid/bass drivers are flanked by round LED light-emitting panels for a color show, complemented by two strobe lights.

The JBL PartyBox 100 speaker is completely autonomous, as it has a built-in battery that lasts for 12 hours of continuous operation. For charging, a complete power cord is used, i.e. The battery can only be charged from the mains.

The main controls are located on the top of the case, including the button to change the mode of the LED panel, the volume control, the Play key, the battery charge indicator, the Bluetooth pairing button, the bass boost function activation key and the power switch. At the top of the rear panel are the following switching connectors: USB port for recharging USB devices and connecting USB drives to play audio files stored there, 3.5 mm input and 3.5 mm Aux output, as well as inputs for a microphone and guitar with appropriate volume controls and the ability to adjust the sensitivity. Thanks to the presence of a Bluetooth module, the JBL PartyBox 100 allows you to play audio from smartphones, tablets and other Bluetooth devices. In this case, the speaker can remember the connection settings for up to eight wireless devices paired with it.

The model boasts a solid ten-kilogram body with two rubberized carrying handles and an oval bass-reflex port located in the back. If necessary, the JBL PartyBox 100 can be installed horizontally on the rubber mini-feet integrated into its sides. This speaker system also has a special stand (option). Wall mounting of the speaker is available.

With Bluetooth pairing and True Wireless Stereo (TWS), two JBL PartyBox 100 speakers can be combined into a single 160W per channel wireless stereo system.

This kit also includes the high performance vocal microphone AKG P3 S . It is excellent for backing vocals and guitars. The cardioid pickup pattern gives good gain before feedback and reduces unwanted noise, and its uniform pattern provides excellent sound capture in a narrow area. The microphone has an excellent metal housing, as well as a very durable fine-mesh grille. A silent on/off switch allows you to instantly mute the sound during breaks or performances without affecting the sound path, and a wide frequency range allows you to capture any instrument and voice.

The AKG P3 S capsule has an integrated windscreen to reduce wind noise. The plug for connection is made on a gold-plated XLR-M connector. Comes with soft protective case and SA45 microphone stand adapter. Additionally, you can purchase an external windscreen W880, W3004 and W23, as well as an anti-shock suspension h40, adapters for the SA44, ST305 and ST45 microphone stand, and other accessories.
