Klx110 oil capacity: KLX110 oil capacity? | PlanetMinis Forums

Best fork oil for BBR Heavy duty springs and BBR Dampening rods? I need something w/ fairly quick action as I’m only 140lbs…

I assume something around 5wt with a good calculated viscosity index would be the best option. I have a dnm 270mm shock on the klx 110 with super stock bbr swing arm so I’m going to have to balance the bike

What’s RaceTech motorex Light US1 5wt like compared to Bel-ray HVI 5wt?

Those forks are going to be really stiff, even with 5WT. I’m quite a bit heavier than you and only run one HD spring.

Yeah, that’s what I thought. I had PJ1 15wt oil and I knew it was too heavy a weight. I know racetech makes a 2.5wt oil?

Would it be bad for the forks to put one hd bbr spring and one stock spring in the forks? Or should I just get 2.5w fork oil. I was told at 140lbs I would be fine with bbr springs.

If it won’t mess up the forks I might work with one bbr speing in fork and a less stiff spring on the other side but what is the spring rate of the bbr spring? Stock fork springs are: .48/kg, I think… maybe lighter for earlier klx models.

Are there any lighter fork springs than bbr but stiffer than stock. Fasterminis has some that are 30% stiffer and claim they won’t seize up like bbr’s but bbr said their springs are also 30% stiffer.

I’m going to use 5 or 2.5wt oil either way. I’m not a fan of very stiff or very soft forks which the latter was annoying when using stock and bottoming out.

EDIT: Okay, BBR said the stock fork springs are .48 kg. and their heavy-duty springs are .62 kg, 60% sriffer than stock, so fasterminis would be less stiff.

So, upon further research, lots on here use just one bbr spring. Doing this will save me a lot of money and time. I won’t have to buy a less stiff spring and try selling the BBR’s. So, I’ll try one bbr spring with either 2.5 or 5w fork oil and see how it goes.

Is it just a drop in and forget or are there special things one has to do of they are using two different springs?

With one bbr spring I would assume the spring rate would be around 55, as opposed to over 60 with two; and fasterminis sprimgs apparently are 60 and stiffer than they claim.

Damping rods, 1 HD spring and 1 stock, 15wt oil. I use Belray fork oil, and I’m not much heavier than you.
