History of Nokia

Like many great companies and corporations, Nokia initially did not do what it achieved main success . At when it was founded – in 1868 – it was a paper mill.

Interestingly, the word Nokia is the plural form of the Finnish word Nois, which refers to a black sable, a furry animal. But the official version of the origin of the name is the city of the same name in Finland.

In other words, in a roundabout way, Nokia regained its own production facilities and developments. Since 2017, under the Nokia brand, smartphones based on the Android OS have been produced.

At the start of sales of Nokia smartphones in 2017 , the first success was achieved by indicator 2.8 million units sold in Q3 2017 . Claimed to be IP68 water resistant, there’s a thick protective bumper, Gorilla Glass Victus screen protection, and it’s the toughest we’ve seen on a Nokia smartphone before. Why so expensive? You have to pay extra for a reinforced screen, a solid construction, rubber bumpers, and for the brand, of course 🙂

The 4630 mAh battery allows Nokia XR20 to work up to 2 days without recharging. It lasted just over 17 hours in the video playback test. A small bonus is the 15W wireless charging.

When it comes to color reproduction in photography, the Nokia XR20 captures the mood of what you’re shooting perfectly, but brightness suffers, and when you zoom in on objects like grass and tree leaves, they mostly blend into a mess.

A very strange device indeed. The Snapdragon 480 processor, beloved by Nokia in recent years, is not a record holder in performance, not quite good. This is not surprising. Wireless charging in a smartphone for 15K? This is something out of the ordinary. But it is not here, no matter how Yandex.Market and other stores convince us. As a Xiaomi fan would say, “just top for the money” in this review of Nokia smartphones. And if this is clearly visible in performance, then with the overall balance, everything is not so simple.

The 2021 Snapdragon 480 processor is divided into power and energy saving clusters according to the 2 + 6 core formula. 8 GB of RAM should satisfy any need for system speed and multitasking. Why is Nokia releasing feature phones in 2022 at all? In 2021, the company introduced the Nokia 6310 model.

But that’s not all: in 2022, the Nokia 105 and Nokia 105 Plus models appeared on the Indian market. The release of push-button phones was also in 2019, but they did not enter all European markets.

Feature phones are one of the priorities of HMD Global, with which Nokia started working in 2016. Around the same time, Nokia returned to the mobile phone business. This is now being done by HMD Global, which promoted its product under the Nokia brand.
