Our Story

Who is A1 Security Cameras?

A1 Security Cameras was founded in Dallas, Texas in the hot summer of 2007, and build a team of experts in the video surveillance field.

We have been honored and blessed to work on many large – technically heavy projects and served to customers that have nationwide footprint. This expertise and relationships with the top brands in the world lets us get you the best prices and best security cameras and equipment for your home or office. We’re a small business with dedicated employees that are like family to us. We became a domestic and international online distributor of video surveillance products.

We are video surveillance systems experts!

When you call us, here is what you can expect. We will actively listen to your concerns. Whether that be a new facility or existing one, if you have concerns about property security, employee theft, lousy neighbor, mail theft etc. We will notate these issues and dive into the vast portfolio of brands we carry and build a security camera system that fits you. We may not get it perfect at first but it is a process and our team of video surveillance experts will work with you to put together a sound system that will last.

What does A1 Security Cameras sell?

In a nutshell, here is what we sell. We custom designed Security Camera Systems with different assumptions to give options to our customers. You can find these security systems divided into two categories. IP Security Camera Systems and HD CCTV Camera Systems. These systems fit to lot of situations and you can add to cart – checkout and receive your system in matter of days. If you have different expectations however we would love to hear about your expectation and we can custom design a security camera system for your needs.

We sell Recorders (DVR and NVR), audio surveillance microphones, Video Management Software (VMS), Accessories, Ubiquiti network equipment.

We added Security Turnstiles into our portfolio since 2016. We are distributor and manufacturer of Full Height, Swing Gate, Touchless (Optical) and Waist High Turnstiles (aka Tripod Turnstiles).

What does A1 Security Cameras do?

1 – We sell top brand names in video surveillance industry. These brands are our ingredients. We use and recommend each brand depending on the application and scenario. We have access to all the brands in video surveillence industry through our partners and distributors so if you are not seeing what you are looking for, please give us a call.

2 – We make our own security camera system packages. These are custom made meaning the components and combination of these products are unique to A1 Security Cameras.

3 – We sell both domestically and internationally. We have lots of customers in Canada, Mexico, Asia, Middle East, Africa and South America.

4 – We have our own product line called Oculur. We pick specialty products from our industry and put our brand and our name behind it.

5 – We stock and sell turnstiles and exclusive distributorship with the factory in United States.

6 – Last but not least, we are licensed in State of Texas to install security camera systems so we offer installation services in Dallas, Fort Worth metroplex.

How can A1 Security Cameras help you choose security camera system?

“How can I protect your place of residence or business without breaking the bank? How can I choose between all hyped cloud cameras (Nest, Arlo, Blink and other cloud cameras) versus on-site, on-premise, self-hosted, true CCTV (closed circuit) based security camera system?”

These can be tough questions however let me tell you this, you are definitely on the right track! Whether you’re looking to protect your business and property, or just want a little piece of mind, investment in security cameras is well worth it. We will be honored if you decide to call us with your needs so we can help you save time and money on making this investment.

We are video surveillance systems experts!

1 – We have pre-made security camera system packages. They are enough for many situations and you can simply add-to-cart and checkout with these systems. We are in the process of designing more systems (such as license plate recognition, reliable wireless security camera systems, long range wireless security camera systems etc.)

2 – If you need something outside the box and you want one of our experts to guide you. Please fill out the form on “Let’s Build Your System” page.

3 – Please explain: what are you trying to protect? What are your concerns? What is your expectation? Please share anything you like and we will start working.

4 – We have installer partners all over the country. If you would like us to make arrangements, we will look into our database.

If you are looking for security cameras near by, you don’t have to, we are phone call away. We have global foot print with customers across the globe, we will deliver your products to your foot step.

Buying security camera systems is buying like Insurance

Owning a home or business requires an investment in security. We hear “video surveillance footage” in the news every day. “Police is looking for suspects and they just released video surveillance footage from near by grocery store”. We also see movies from Hollywood on the other hand that unravels pixelated photos or videos and show the face of the criminal after couple of mouse clicks. We wish it would be that fantastic to be able to see those faces or license plates from far away but we are getting there!!!

Talking about real life though, some security camera systems are better than others at catching criminals. The most basic and sought for feature of security camera system is to produce court room ready video surveillance footage in case of unexpected situation. It’s paramount that you do your homework before purchasing one so when you need it, it will produce you the evidence you need.

This company is incredible. The personal service given to each customer is second to none. Gary and his team are extremely helpful, reliable, and trustworthy. Security cameras create the feeling of safety to your home or business, but working with A1, I know my property is truly prepared for the unthinkable, and I say thank you for that!

David Lake

Quick and extremely helpful. They helped us sort out a whole host of issues at one of our properties and facilitated gaining access to the remote system. Ryan went out of his way to ensure we had a successful experience. Their pricing is extremely fair and competitive.

Chris Cody

Excellent service. My salesman (Garry) answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable. He spoke to me like a friend and didn’t talk down to me when I asked simple questions. The prices were very competitive. I would recommend again. Thanks.

Setting up security cameras in the Home app on iPhone

You can view video from security cameras in your home in the Home app. With any HomeKit-compatible camera, you can view live video in the Home app, choose who can access the live video, and set notifications when activity is detected.

For a list of compatible security cameras, see the Home App Controlled Smart Home Accessories website.

If you have one or more HomeKit Protected Video-enabled cameras, the additional benefits listed below are available to you.

  • Encrypted video. Video recorded by your cameras is analyzed and encrypted on the device you use as your home hub (Apple TV or HomePod) and then securely uploaded to iCloud. These security measures ensure that only you and the people you share it with can view the video.

  • Video capture. If you have an iCloud+ subscription, you can view activity-detected surveillance video from the last 10 days. Depending on the tariff plan, it supports from one camera to an unlimited number of cameras. iCloud+ 50GB plan supports one camera; iCloud+ 200GB plan supports up to five cameras; iCloud+ 2TB plan supports unlimited cameras.

Note. Video content from cameras is not counted towards remaining free space in iCloud storage.

  • Activity zones. You can create zones for the camera to focus on the most important areas within the camera’s field of view.

  • Face recognition. You can receive notifications when people tagged in the Photos app appear in the camera’s field of view.

See Save encrypted security camera footage to iCloud with HomeKit Protected Video and Set up HomeKit Protected Video on all devices in the iCloud User Guide.

Camera options

When you add a camera to the Home app, you can select video streaming options and assign a room to the camera. With a camera that supports HomeKit Protected Video, you can also select recording options. By default, up to four cameras can be added to favorites and displayed on the Home tab. To change these settings later, tap the Cameras tile, then tap the button. The options listed below will be displayed.

  • Room. You can place the camera in one of the rooms of the house, or create a room if the camera is located outside the house, such as above the porch or in the yard.

  • Notices. Tap Status & Notifications, select the setting to receive notifications when the camera detects activity, changes status, or goes offline.

  • Recording setting for cameras that support HomeKit Protected Video. You can create different recording settings for use when you are at home and when you are not at home. For example, when you are at home, you can stop broadcasting and recording video from the camera located inside the house, but continue to broadcast and record video from the camera located outside.

The Home app uses the location of devices owned by home users to switch between Home and Away modes. For example, when you leave home with your iPhone, the camera switches from Home mode to Away mode.

Notification settings

  1. On the Home tab, tap , then tap Home Settings.

  2. Tap Cameras & Doorbells.

  3. Touch the camera for which you want to set notifications.

  4. Tap Notifications and turn on Activity Notifications.

HomeKit compatible cameras can send a notification when motion is detected. Cameras that support HomeKit Protected Video can also send notifications based on the following factors:

    • the onset of a certain time of day;

    • presence or absence of someone at home;

    • clip recording;

    • detection of any or specific movement.

When you select a certain motion, you are notified when the camera detects people, animals or vehicles, or when a delivery is in progress. In order for a delivered object to be detected, it must remain in the camera’s field of view after delivery.

Tip. If you select a specific type of motion, fewer clips will be created and you will receive fewer notifications than if the camera is set to detect any motion. The total length of the camera video you need to view will also be reduced. For example, if you select people detection, the camera will not start recording when it detects the movement of tree leaves or a squirrel jumping from branch to branch.

Create hotspots for cameras that support HomeKit Protected Video

You can create zones that focus a HomeKit Protected Video camera on the most important areas within its view, such as the front doorway rather than the sidewalk behind it. You can then receive alerts if motion is detected in these areas.

Activity zones can only be created for cameras configured to record when a certain type of motion is detected. Activity zones do not affect automations related to motion detection.

  1. On the Home tab, tap the camera tile, then tap the button.

  2. Tap Select Activity Zones, tap the video to create a zone, then tap Add Zone.

To make the camera detect motion only outside the zone you specify, tap Swap Zone.

  3. Create any additional zones in the camera’s field of view, such as one for the driveway and one for the mailbox.

  4. Touch the Done button.

To remove an activity zone, click Select Activity Zones, click inside the zone, then click Clear.

Watching videos

  1. On the Home tab, tap the camera tile.

Live streaming will start playing automatically.

  2. If you have chosen to record video on a camera that supports HomeKit Protected Video, swipe the timeline at the bottom of the screen to view the recorded clips.

  3. Touch a clip to play it.

  4. Tap Live to return to live video.

When the camera is set to detect a certain type of motion, the timeline displays symbols for objects whose motion has been detected: people, animals, vehicles, and delivered items.

You can also view recorded and live videos in the Home app on your Mac with macOS 10.15.1 or later installed.

Select access options

Follow the steps below to allow other people to view video from your cameras.

  1. Tap , then tap Home Settings.

  2. Select a person under the People heading.

  3. Tap Cameras, then choose an option.

To let other people watch videos from your cameras, see Let other people control accessories in your home.
