10 main advantages of wall-mounted air conditioners Next article

Wall mounted air conditioners are very similar to window units, they need a spigot to fit into a hole in the wall to get proper support. They don’t need window sill space, and they don’t block sunlight. These units are more than affordable. Their annual costs are not that high.

This air conditioner can be conveniently installed in living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and offices. And if they are old and you buy a new one, replacement is not that difficult. In this article, you will learn about all the benefits offered.

Affordability

In-wall air conditioners are considered affordable because the models are inexpensive. For not a lot of money, you get a very efficient device with many features and capabilities.

Of course, the starting price depends on many factors. The first is the brand. Some brands are more reliable and well-known, some are not. You should always rely on a brand that can provide positive feedback from satisfied users. This is the best proof of the product.

The energy efficiency factor is a very good factor that increases the initial price, but can be more than useful in the future as it saves money.

The price is also affected by the features offered, noise level, performance and cooling capacity. The cooling capacity increases with the size of the room. A wall-mounted air conditioner for small spaces is less expensive than an air conditioner designed for medium-sized rooms.

Energy Efficiency

Each model of wall-mounted air conditioner has a label on which you can read the Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER). EER gives you a better idea of how efficient your air conditioner is.

Higher EER means more efficient machines. In general, devices with an EER above 10 can be considered efficient models. If you are in a situation where you are buying a new block, try to find the highest EER. This is a long term deal that will not disappoint you.

Monthly expenses

We all want to save money. This is completely normal. If we have a limited budget, we wonder what we can buy with that kind of money. If we are buying a new refrigeration appliance, one of the biggest benefits of built-in air conditioners is their monthly cost.

Monthly unit costs are critical for everyone and you need to calculate them before purchasing a unit. Before you start calculating the monthly cost of a built-in air conditioner, you should know the following parameters:

  1. How many watts your unit consumes.
  2. Price per kilowatt per hour.
  3. The number of hours you intend to use the device daily.

No reinstallation in winter and no no blocked window

Compared to window air conditioner, there is no need to reinstall the wall in air conditioner after summer season and before winter. The reason is that your wall-mounted cooler is fixed in a hole in the wall and can stay there during the winter. Nothing blocks your window. You can always comfortably open it at will, and during the colder months when daylight is lacking for all of us, the window is still exposed to light.

Installed in the air conditioner wall sleeve and using high quality insulation, there is no gap around the unit. The cooling and heating device fits snugly. However, the unit must be operated in bad weather conditions where water cannot get inside or cold air cannot be blown. Fixed installation saves you time, money and effort. You don’t need to buy any covers for the outside of the unit to protect it in winter, unlike window units.

Wall air conditioner does not block the window. You can open it up and you won’t have to struggle with less daylight. There are literally no restrictions on the use of the window. The reason is that your AC unit is installed in a hole in the wall. It is a very compact and elegant solution for year-round use as the unit does not need to be reinstalled.

Multi-room use

Multi-room use is one of the main advantages of wall mounted air conditioners. In this case, the wall air conditioner is flush with the window cooler.

Compared to window technology, they are not so easy to install in another room of your house or when moving. The reason is that you need to cut a hole in the wall and install a grommet there. You can then insert the block.

They are often installed in bedrooms, living rooms or kitchens. You can use it in every room of your home. Fortunately, they do not require additional space. Their big advantage, why it is worth buying them for the home, is that they are affordable and I almost every family can buy them. And if you’re looking for a quiet car, you won’t regret buying a wall-mounted air conditioner because these appliances are usually quiet. And that doesn’t just mean quiet operation. Since the unit is installed in the wall, you don’t have to deal with rain on the chassis.

Wall mounted AC unit has many options to improve your quality of life. However, many people usually try to save money (in their opinion, so as not to waste money) and do not buy a device with some useful features that are worth the money.

The most popular mode is the thermal mode. One of the biggest advantages of wall mounted air conditioners is that they can be used not only during the hot summer season, but also during the colder months as a heat source.

Manufacturers typically design AC wall units with electric or heat pumps to provide heat. What’s the difference between them? Electric heating usually uses an internal coil to produce heat. The fan then blows hot air around the room. Heat pumps work like an AC inverter. This means that it works on the principle of removing heat from colder air using mechanical energy.

Heat pumps simply move energy, they don’t produce it. Therefore, they are more efficient than electric heating systems. But electric heaters are preferable in areas where the weather changes more frequently and abruptly.

In addition, many devices operate as the main heat source until the outside temperature falls below a certain temperature. When temperatures drop, heat pumps are not as efficient and can only provide additional heating. Keep this in mind when buying a new wall mounted AC machine.

Other modes include sleep mode, fan mode and dry mode. Sleep mode is usually silent and raises the ambient temperature every hour until you wake up. But usually it increases by one degree every hour.

Fan mode is very useful when you don’t need to cool the room because the room temperature is quite good. But you’d rather have the air move.

The last mode is dehumidification. This is a very popular mode because it removes moisture from the air. Moisture makes your AC wall box work harder. This helps bacteria grow. If you decide to buy a new unit, also look at the dehumidification rate, which is measured in pints per hour or day. This is very important if you live in a wetter area or are struggling with high levels of humidity at home.

Many features available

In addition to the modes, wall-mounted air conditioners also benefit from the features available. They are here to help you and improve your comfort along with features.

The remote control is mandatory. It works in the infrared range. With the remote control you can change the settings, the temperature or turn on the heating. It is more than convenient to have it, especially if the device is installed in the living room or bedroom, where you want to relax, and not constantly get up to change something.

There is also a timer that allows you to program the device 24 hours ahead.

Another nice feature is the automatic restart. You can rely on it when you face a power outage. After the power supply is restored, the wall-mounted air conditioner starts working again with the same settings as before the failure.

Washable filter and filter check alert is another nice bonus. The reusable filter can be washed in the kitchen sink with soap. This is a quick and easy solution. You do not need to spend money to replace the current filter.

Especially if you are planning to install a new unit in the living room where you meet guests, you will love adjustable blinds. They provide direction of air to a certain place.

No floor area blockage

Compared with for example a mobile unit, the wall mounted air conditioner does not block floor space. It simply installs into a hole in the wall. And it could be kept there all year round. It doesn’t matter if you use it seasonally or not.

This type of air cooling is ideal for small, medium or large rooms. It is multi-purpose simply because it does not require additional floor space.

Wall-mounted air conditioners have many advantages. True, the machines are very similar to window technology, but in the end they are completely different. In-wall AC units have more benefits, but the initial price is almost the same and the annual cost may be lower. Before buying, I recommend making a calculation according to my formula. But you also have to consider the fact that this type of device requires permanent installation and for some of you this might be a disadvantage.
